Dealer API and EDI

Connect your dealership's systems to Signature: your prices, availability, order status and tracking, and invoices, by API today and by EDI on request.

What it is

A read-only REST API for dealers with a portal account. It returns what your portal shows: your account's prices and deals, availability, your orders with status and tracking, and your invoices. It never returns another dealer's information or our costs.

Keys

A buyer makes keys on the portal's Integrations page. A key is shown once; store it like a password and send it as a Bearer token. Revoke a key there the moment it's no longer needed or may have leaked; we can revoke keys too.

Limits

Each key may make 60 requests a minute and 5,000 a day. Catalog pages hold at most 100 items. Going over returns 429 with a Retry-After header. The API is for your own systems; don't resell it or use it to copy our catalog.

EDI on request

We can exchange X12 EDI with your system or VAN: 850 purchase orders, 855 acknowledgments, 856 ship notices and 810 invoices, over AS2, SFTP or your VAN. Ask orders@smgltd.net or use the request on the portal's Integrations page, and we'll set it up with your team.

Changes

We add to version 1 without breaking it (new fields, new endpoints). A breaking change gets a new version and notice to every dealer with an active key. The portal terms of use apply to the API too.

Quick start

Make a key on the dealer portal's Integrations page, then send it as a Bearer token. Every answer is JSON; money is whole cents, USD; lists come withpage,perPage andhasMore. 60 requests a minute and 5,000 a day per key; pages of up to 100.

Catalog with your prices

Models you can order, with your account's price, any live deal, UMRP and availability as a band (In stock, Limited, Incoming with ETA, Special order, Out).

Up to 100 models in one call, for your own website or ERP. A model we don't carry comes back with found: false.

Newest first, each with its status in plain words: Received, Under review, Waiting on stock, On hold, In the warehouse, Ships (date), Shipped, Delivered, Complete, Cancelled.
